Attendance Dues are a compulsory payment approved by the Minister of Education under the terms of the Education and Training Act 2020 and a condition of enrolment at Iqra School. The attendance dues amount for 2021 is $1000 per student.
Attendance Dues are used for property related costs including school building works.
Attendance Dues are collected by Iqra School on behalf of the school’s Proprietor, Algoritmi Educational Trust. All attendance dues collected are forwarded to the proprietors.
Our enrolment process complies with the requirements of our Integration Agreement and the Education and Training Act 2020.
We consider preference and non-preference enrolment as below:
Preference enrolment: The Education and Training Act 2020 (section 26) states that "the children of parents who have a particular or general philosophical or religious connection with a State integrated school must be preferred to other children for enrolment at the school".
Parents may apply for preference enrolment for their child and the decision to accept the enrolment is made using criteria stated in the integration agreement.
Non-preference enrolment: Parents may apply for non-preference enrolment if a student does not meet preference of enrolment criteria. Non-preference enrolment is also determined by criteria, and is dependent upon vacancies at the time of enrolment and restricted to a percentage of the maximum roll as specified in our Integration Agreement. At Iqra School this is a maximum of 5%
Details of enrolment for preference and non-preference students is available in our preferrential enrolment policy
Transition to school for new entrants
Being a parent with a child starting a new school is always daunting; here at Iqra we make sure that the transition is as seamless as possible. We offer the children five school visits to become familiar with their new routine and to provide them with the opportunity to make friends. This also gives their teacher time to develop a relationship with the child and to understand the best way to teach them.
